New Map Layer: Wildlife Action Plans
July 18, 2009 - Posted by
The Conservation Registry incorporated a national State Wildlife Action Plan layer into its Mapping Tool. The map layer is featured as part of the suite of Registry Overlay tools accessible by a dropdown menu. Twenty states completed strategic mapping components for their State Wildlife Action Plans, and this map layer reflects each state's unique methodology, ecological targets, species, and goals. Although many states did not create maps by the program deadline in 2005, some are now beginning to complete spatially explicit conservation action plans, and that data may be added to this map layer as time goes on.

We are in the process of soliciting data from organizations and gearing up for our national expansion. Data can be entered into the Registry electronically as well as manually. As part of the data solicitation process, we encourage organizations that will be electronically importing data to also manually enter additional information on their projects, as some of data sets do not include the details that the Conservation Registry captures.

Initial Beta Testing Complete
February 28, 2008 - Posted by
We have completed our initial round of beta testing and want to thank all of the participants who provided their feedback. This testing period (from January 31 to February 24) was focused on user accounts and data entry (adding a project, using mapping features, etc.). Data entry is the cornerstone of the registry as this area of the application defines the majority of the database fields, the database structure and data interactions used to capture and present conservation project information.
