Full Project Description

The Michigan Prescribed Fire Council and the Lake States Fire Science Consortium are sponsoring a Field Tour to highlight the issues involved with fire management and control of invasive species.

Consider joining them on October 17th at 1:30 PM Eastern Time at the Cut River Bridge Roadside Rest Area parking lot east of the bridge. If you let Lara Rainbolt (lrainbolt@tnc.org) or Robert Ziel (ziel.4@osu.edu) know that you plan to attend, we will keep you updated.

We will be visiting a mesic northern hardwood forest near there where the MI DNR combined prescribed burns and herbicide treatments to control Garlic Mustard (Alliaria petiolata) over more than 70 acres.

We anticipate members of the UP Resource Conservation & Development Council will be joining us as part of their own meeting in the area that day.

Please review the Project Documents and Project Links to the right in preparation for the field tour. We look forward to you joining us.
